Lesson 6 — Expert Detectives
Summary (English)
Expert Detectives by Sharada Dwivedi follows siblings Nishad (Seven) and Maya (Ten) who are curious about their quiet neighbour, Mr Nath. He lives alone, pays in cash, looks weak and poor, and has only one regular Sunday visitor. Maya suspects he is a criminal and even makes a long “case file” of questions. But after meeting Mr Nath, Nishad feels sympathy for his loneliness and thinks he might be a kind, honest man.
The chapter contrasts guesswork vs. empathy. It shows how children’s imagination can turn into detective play, and how compassion helps us see people more fairly.

एक्सपर्ट डिटेक्टिव्स (शारदा द्विवेदी) में दो भाई-बहन निशाद (सेवन) और माया (टेन) अपने शांत पड़ोसी मिस्टर नाथ को लेकर जिज्ञासु हैं। वे अकेले रहते हैं, नकद भुगतान करते हैं, दुबले-पतले दिखते हैं और हर रविवार केवल एक ही मेहमान आता है। माया उन्हें संदिग्ध मानती है और सवालों की एक लंबी “केस-फ़ाइल” बनाती है। लेकिन मिलने के बाद निशाद को उनकी तन्हाई देखकर दया आती है और लगता है कि वे भले इंसान हो सकते हैं।
