The story “Two Friends and a Bear” highlights the reality of true friendship. Two friends were walking through a forest and they promised that they would always support each other in times of danger. Suddenly, a bear appeared on the path. One of the friends got frightened and immediately climbed a tree to save himself, forgetting his promise.

The other friend could not climb the tree. He used his presence of mind, lay down on the ground and pretended to be dead. The bear came near him and sniffed him. Since bears generally do not attack dead bodies, it slowly went away. After the bear left, the friend who had climbed the tree came down and asked what the bear had whispered into his ear. The friend replied that the bear advised him not to trust a friend who leaves you alone in danger.

“दो दोस्त और भालू” की यह कहानी सच्ची मित्रता की पहचान कराती है। दो दोस्त जंगल के रास्ते जा रहे थे। उन्होंने आपस में यह वादा किया था कि किसी भी खतरे की स्थिति में वे एक-दूसरे की मदद करेंगे। तभी रास्ते में अचानक एक भालू आ गया। यह देखकर एक दोस्त बहुत डर गया और अपनी जान बचाने के लिए तुरंत पास के पेड़ पर चढ़ गया। वह अपने दोस्त के बारे में सोचे बिना ही अकेला ऊपर चढ़ गया।

दूसरे दोस्त को पेड़ पर चढ़ना नहीं आता था। उसने घबराने के बजाय अपने दिमाग का इस्तेमाल किया। वह चुपचाप जमीन पर लेट गया और मृत जैसा हो गया। भालू उसके पास आया, उसे सूंघा और सोचा कि यह लड़का मर चुका है। भालू आमतौर पर मरे हुए शरीर पर हमला नहीं करते, इसलिए वह वहाँ से चला गया। जब खतरा टल गया तो पेड़ पर चढ़ा हुआ दोस्त नीचे आया और मज़ाक में पूछने लगा कि भालू ने तुम्हारे कान में क्या कहा। इस पर दूसरे दोस्त ने गंभीरता से जवाब दिया कि भालू ने कहा — जो दोस्त मुसीबत में साथ छोड़ दे, उस पर कभी भरोसा नहीं करना चाहिए।
