Once upon a time, a poor woodcutter lived near a forest. He worked very hard every day to earn money for his family. One day, while cutting wood near a river, his only iron axe slipped from his hand and fell into the deep water. He became very sad because he could not afford to buy a new axe.

Suddenly, a fairy appeared from the river with a gold axe and asked if it belonged to him. The woodcutter honestly refused. The fairy then showed him a silver axe. Again, he said it was not his. Finally, she brought his own iron axe. The woodcutter happily accepted it.

The fairy was impressed with his honesty. As a reward, she gifted him all three axes. The woodcutter thanked the fairy and went home with happiness and pride.

एक बार एक गरीब लकड़हारा जंगल के पास रहता था। वह अपने परिवार के लिए रोज़ मेहनत करके पैसे कमाता था। एक दिन वह नदी के किनारे लकड़ी काट रहा था कि अचानक उसकी एकमात्र लोहे की कुल्हाड़ी पानी में गिर गई। वह बहुत दुखी हो गया क्योंकि वह नई कुल्हाड़ी खरीदने लायक नहीं था।

तभी नदी से एक परी निकली और उसने उसे सोने की कुल्हाड़ी दिखाई। लकड़हारे ने कहा कि यह उसकी नहीं है। फिर उसने चाँदी की कुल्हाड़ी दिखाई, पर लकड़हारे ने फिर मना कर दिया। आखिर में उसने लोहे की कुल्हाड़ी दिखाई। लकड़हारा इसे देखकर खुश हो गया और कहा कि यह उसकी कुल्हाड़ी है।

परी उसकी ईमानदारी से प्रसन्न हुई और उसने उसे तीनों कुल्हाड़ियाँ दे दीं। लकड़हारा खुशी से घर आया और गर्व महसूस किया।

Moral: Honesty always gives us rewards.

शिक्षा: ईमानदारी का फल हमेशा मीठा होता है।
