Competency: Reads text with comprehension-Infers meaning from the text.

Read the given story and answer the questions:

Once there was a puppy who had no home.

It saw a shed and said, “I’ll live in this. cave. I’ll be safe and warm here.”

Out of the shed came a big buffalo, grunting “Get away from my shed!”

Then the puppy saw a house. It rested on the stairs.

A little girl in the house saw the puppy on the stairs. She came out with a bowl of milk.

“Here’s something to drink. Please stay with me and be my friend.”

The puppy stayed with her.

  • What was the puppy looking for?

    • (D) A home
  • Where did the puppy go when the buffalo chased it away?

    • (C) To a little girl’s house
  • Write the names of animals you have at your home. (This answer depends on the animals you have at home. Example: “Dog, cat, rabbit.”)
